Downtown Parking
« on: May 25, 2008, 01:49:48 PM »
Anyone know the situation with downtown parking during the work week?  I've seen bikes wedged every which way but I've also heard that you can still get ticketed because it's illegal.

From what I hear it's illegal, but they generally won't ticket you unless you're in the way.
Of course there is always the chance that you'll get a ticket from some cop in a bad mood.

I don't work downtown, but I would probably take the risk. Just don't keep doing it if you do get ticketed, because then they'll tow ya.

$40 Dollars Later...

Got one yesterday, crap!  While on this topic, it's probably worth mentioning that there might be free parking next to the Spaghetti Factory downtown against the South-facing wall.  It seems that it's packed every day now.  Can anyone confirm that they've parked here and never received a ticket?  Any other "safe", "no-ticket" spots downtown that anyone knows of?

Can anyone confirm that this area next to the Spaghetti Factory is a "ticket free" zone (NE corner of 3rd Ave and 3rd Street SW)? It's packed every morning so I would assume that they don't ticket bikes parked in this spot.

There are so many motorcycles there that it almost looks like a bike show!

There is also bike parking in the beltline beside the mac's store on the corner of 11th Ave and 5th St SW.

Its in the beltline so on the other side of the tracks from the core, but if you in that area is good parking
