Hey all,

Hope everyone's having a good Summer.  We could use a little less of this dreary weather.  I'm heading down to Sturgis again this year and I'm taking the sportbike again.  Any DIY tips on how to make the ride more comfortable for my butt (ex. foam, gel pads, ...etc...)?  I looked at a Corbin seat but that option's a little pricey, especially given that I've put in my resignation at work and haven't gotten a job elsewhere yet. Need a fix on the cheap.

Here's my trip report from my 2008 ride down to Sturgis:

well i have seen some bikes with that sheep skin on the seat, normally cruisers but sometimes a sport bike. Told it helps.

Corbin are top of the line, sergent also makes some nice seats.

I'm currently looking at maybe using a gel pad (corbin/sargent seats are little beyond my current budget).

If I ride with my butt slid back to the wide part of the seat, does anyone know if that'll help?

I'm also thinking about getting a piece of cheap foam, rolling up the sides then putting it on top of the seat for that slight bucket support.  I'm just worried it might end up making it worse.

You may want to check out:

Luckily, my current rides have pretty plush seats, so I can't vouch for any of these aftermarket items, but I've heard sheepskin is the way to go.

I've purchased a bunch of stuff from Aerostich over the last couple of years, and they have good service and ship pretty quick.  I havent' ordered anything from them since relocating to Canada though....

Good luck.
