Looking for a new bike any suggestions?
« on: March 27, 2010, 09:53:41 PM »
hey im looking for a new bike, i would like a cruiser/chopper, im not into crotch rockets. What im really looking for in my bike is that "wide tire" look, the one you see with most choppers. Now my question is should i buy something like a Harley and then try and find a wide tire kit for it, or should i just buy a Harley rocker c, or should i buy a kit bike and put it together myself. In the end I want the best bang for my buck, and i would love to spend as little as possible but am willing to spend as much as it takes to get the look i want

Check out the Yamaha Raider.  It's a sweet cruiser/chopper with a nice wide rear tire.  That's the bike I'll probably buy once I get rid of my CBR.

Actually, there's also the Suzuki Boulevard M109R that you might be interested in.  It's rear tire is wider than the Yamaha but to me, it looks to "space-aged" and I like the more traditional chopper look that the Raider offers.

My 2cents would be the HD V-rod as it comes stock with a 240 and there are a couple of kits to go to a 300 or better also I believe there are kits for the crossbones and maybe the dyna bikes. A dyna wide glide with a wide tire kit would look good. The metric bikes are shaft drive except the Yamaha raider I believe so I do not believe you can go to a wider tire. Other than that I would look at importing a used custom chopper from the US.

WOW, i havent seen a fork like that before... or would you even call that a fork? sweet looking though, reminds me of a skeleton, perhaps just change the headlight to a skull head? :D

i do like the Yamaha Raider too! i would perhaps shave some weight off of it somehow... too heavy looking, whereas to me choppers seems to look a lot more cleaner (or lighter in a way?)

Okay, remember you asked...lol

Kawasaki Mean Streak

Honda VTX1300C

Honda VTX1800F

Honda VT1300 Sabre

Yamaha V-Star Warrior

Suzuki Boulevard C109R

Victory Vegas 8-Ball

Victory Hammer

Triumph Rocket III

And then there are the Harley's...too many to show here.

As far as I know, all of these options are less expensive than the Harley's, and all have better performance...except for the V-Rod...but what do you expect from a Harley with an engine designed by Porsche??

Later.
