Out of Province...
« on: April 18, 2010, 09:20:50 AM »
Hi guys, I just moved here from Kelowna BC.  I ride a 2008 GSXR 600.  It is still currently at my family's house in Kelowna but I plan on getting it next weekend.  I am wondering about insurance.  Do I need to get an out of province inspection done to insure? How hard is it to pass?.. The only thing I'm leary about is that I took the whole back fender off, and do not hav ea light above my licence plate.
Also cost, what is insurance like in Alberta?  I would like full coverage, comprehensive collison theft etc.  I will be keeping both residences so am going to insure in whichever province is easier/cheaper.  BC insurance will cost me about 750 for 5 months, and then I would probably have to get storage insurance for the winter.  I think Alberta just does the insurance year round?  If anyone could answer any of my questions I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Look forward to getting out and riding around Calgary.

Mike

All vehicles registered in another province must pass an Out of Province (OOP) Vehicle Inspection within three months of being brought into Alberta, before they can be registered in the province.
