I just added a section for Edmonton schools.  I'll add more when I have time.  Give them a call and see what their availability is when you plan on being there and make sure to ask if they do class 6 testing at the end of their courses.

Took my lessons through them in 05, fantastic. Even if you think you know how to ride you really should take one of these courses.

I think they should be manditory.

i have nto taken the advanced course(takes place on a track) but i would love to at some point.

James McCarthy (who is a former instructor at NAIT and a champion motorcycle racer) is now teaching Motorcycle courses through  the Canadian Traffic Education Centre. Check out their website. These guys are extremely knowledgeable and make the course an absolute BLAST. Worth checking out.....
Definately a great value for your buck too.

Just thought I'd add a Central Alberta course as well...

The company is "Alberta Motorcycle Training" and they are located in the community of Springbrook (former Penhold military base) - 10 minutes south of Red Deer.

Their website is: http://albertamotorcycletraining.com/index.html

I've taken my first day there yesterday (we got snowed out for today) and so far, so good.  Two of our 3 instructors are former RCMP/Calgary Police motorcycle trainers, so they know their stuff.

I took my beginner rider training through the Alberta Motorcycle Training in Red Deer/Springbrook the week after Durak...May 12, 13,14...excellent course.   8)  The instructors are great, and all the bike shops in town (Red Deer) recommend it to new riders... ;)

I took my ride course through Calgary Safety Council first week of July and really liked it.  Too Cool was booking into mid-August when I was looking back in June.  It now costs $450, but well worth it as I have never ridden before in my life before the course and the instructors were excellent in showing how to ride properly and safely.  I passed my test the first time and in the pouring rainto boot!  :D

Highly recommend those wanting to learn to ride take the course.
