Honda Magnum 750
« on: May 07, 2008, 12:42:29 AM »

Hi,
I am looking at an 1983 well cared for Magna 750. It has 42,600kn and are asking $3,500 - is this too much considering you can buy new or about $8k?

Cheers,

Brian

I find that price to be a bit steep for a bike that old.

even thou im new to the biking world, i think anything near or over 50k on it plus the year it was made' i would get a compression test and a overall inspection on it.

FYI.. found a  2005' Shadow with less than 10k on it for $5,500 here in Spruce Grove, even came with saddle bags!!!

Good call. I can do my own inspection, but for someone new to the bikin' world get someone qualified to do it. It also helps to have a buddy along so you don't give in to "Moto-lust" which will cause you to pay far more than you should for some old POS.

As the owner of a 1982 CB 750 Custom that I value at about $2,500, I'd guess that the price you quote is a tad high.  Is the seller willing to negotiate?  If so, I'd offer something between $2500 and $3000.
